A Creative Blooms Sketch and Color Challenge

If you've been following my blog you know I like challenges.  Each month Kerry at Creative Blooms holds a sketch ( #FSJSC2 ) and color ( #FSJCC2 ) challenge for Fun Stampers Journey coaches and again I am taking part.

I have very little the the paper in the colors we're supposed to use: Butter Cream, Kiwi Slice, Orange Creamsicle, and Lavender Fusion.  I got the Lavender and Orange paper in my started kit but I only used the Lavender.  I had some Butter Cream (ivory/off white) paper already and also the Orange and Kiwi inks.  This card also qualifies for a spring-theme challenge by another coach.  The stipulation was to use some embellishment we were saving.  Well, the orange gems were not so much being saved but that I didn't have a card with the right colors to use them.  I used FSJ's "Journey Ovals" die set for the cross and a pair of decorative scissors for the scallops.

I used glaze on the cross and added a hint of glitter.  I stamped the background and scallops with the "Script" background stamp and sponged Kiwi on the scallops for more color.  I like this card.  I did make a "goof-off" card when the challenges first came out which I do not particularly like.

I paper-pieced the orange and lavender flowers then added glaze and glitter.  The sequins were pink but I used a Copic marker to make them purple.  The flowers are the "Rose Garden" stamp from the ATS Collection ($7.95) and the text is from the "Sentimental Prints" set of 10 for $19.95.    I really don't like all that bold orange.  So far there is only one other in the March challenge and her link isn't working at this time but check back at Creative Blooms to see any more challengers!

Fun Stampers Journey came out with some great options for the Starter Kit!  You can choose the kit that best works with your finances from $69.99 to $149.99 to $199.99!

Take a look!  If you are interested contact me or click through the link at the top of the sidebar!  Would love to have you on my team!  Let's have fun together!

Love both options- but the orange cross is so pretty. I love that you thought to incorporate the cross in some non-traditional colors. Thanks for playing along!!! :)

Carol, I like both cards. And I also like the Orange and the purple together. The flowers are cute!
