A Southwest May Flower

Here's the 3rd of 4 Southwest cards I plan on teaching in my June class at AZ Scrapbooking.  I won't know the date until Monday when we have the instructor's meeting with the store owner, Debi.  And, after checking out the Stars and Stamps (Operation Write Home) blog, it may qualify for their challenge.

Again, I used my Cricut and Southwest cartridge.  The class name will be Southwest for Guys and Gals.  Or do you have a better name?  I'm open to suggestions!  Now there is one thing on this card that is a no- no for OPW but my students love it....  I used the Wink of Stella glitter brush to add veins on the leaves.

You can't really see it on the leaves and I did add a huge rhinestone to the flower center for an added touch (but it's not OK by OWH, either, I think).  The leaves are from a die cut but for the class I'll be using a small one by Heartfelt Creations.

So pop on over to Stars and Stripes and check out the fabulous projects!

Very cute card! I love how the flower and the background are the same paper, but your texture really makes the flower stand out. Great technique.
