Chrysanthemum Inspiration

Again as I was cleaning up old emails I came across a cool card by the Techno Stamper from way back last December!  (Definitely need to get emails cleaned out!)  I used some beautiful chrysanthemum paper by Recollections called Pink & Orange Floral.  I got it for $0.16 a sheet at Michaels a couple weeks back... What a sale!  Anyway, the great scripture text is by Biblical Impressions.  I got this stamp MANY years ago and haven't looked to see if they still carry it.  I also used Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 5 and 11.

I added some Red Brick VersaMagic ink around the white text label and also inked the white satin ribbon with the same ink.  (Looking at my picture I realized my ribbon wasn't on straight and I did fix that.)

I added a couple little gems on the dark green label for a hint of bling. Wouldn't this card be great for any occasion? I do have some birthdays coming up and an anniversary.  May have to try this with different pattern paper...

Boo Kitty

I still watch reruns of Laverne and Shirley.  Do you remember Shirley's stuffed cat?  It's name was Boo Boo Kitty and it was long and black and just so cute. Well, I made my own Boo Kitty but it's on a Halloween card!!

Isn't this just cute??  (I even made the pumpkins in the background....)

I used a TAC™ paper pack called Simply Spooky and the stamps are from the TAC set called Spookalicious.  I embossed the cat with Black EP and the Boo with White EP.  And the buttons, not a bad match, don't you think?

I'll give you a close up of the pumpkins soon.  I may get another one made but will see how my time works out.  Are you ready for Halloween?  Got your cards made for the kids or grandkids?  I still have a couple projects to go!

Decorated window shade...

I was taking a few minutes the other day looking through the photos on my computer and came across the window shades I made back in 2002 to go with the shower curtain in our bathroom.

I had just signed on as demo 547 with The Angel Company in August of 2002 and was getting a good selection of stamps in my inventory.  The original shade in the bathroom was no good and then the light bulb "exploded" over my head!

I can't remember the name of the set but back then we could get stamps in large red rubber sheets.  I had red cushion that I glued to the stamp sheet with rubber cement then used Alene's Tack It Over and Over on the back.  Never heard of "indexing" back then..  I still have the shower curtain that inspired this shade but the window in the hall bath is so small and high with frosted glass that it needs no shade.  I left this in the house that we rented when we moved.

First Day of Autumn Blog Hop

Today Debra and Paula Kay decided to have a Autumn Hop.  I hemmed and hawed since I've already posted a few cards but then, my hopping spirit won out!  I used just 2 TAC sets for this card, Autumn Leaves and Delicious Fall.    I used leftover pieces of colored card stocks and a small piece of white glossy card stock for the main image.  Only 1 ink was used, Burnt Umber PH.

I like how this turned out.  I did this card in minutes....  I love it when it falls together like this!  I also used 2 small brown buttons, red scrappers floss, mini glue dots, and foam mounting tape.

I had a bit of a time photoing this as the glossy was giving me fits wanting to pick up the light and have a glare.  But I got it done!  What do you think?

Stop by these blogs for more Autumn inpiration!

More stamps for sale

I just updated the Stamps for Sale page. The new sets for sale are near the end and start with the set Cat-titude.  They are priced and ready to go!

A Couple more Christmas cards....

I just finished 2 of the 5 cards I make each month.  One uses TAC stamps and the other uses a set by Crafty Clear Stamps (requested by LSS owner for store samples).

This CCS set is called Jolly Ornaments.  It's not selling at the store so, hopefully with samples, they'll be selling.  The pattern cardstock is by American Crafts. It's double sided but I haven't yet used the other side. It's called HollyDay Whiskers and the other side is a green striped pattern. I used my L'Amore and Jardin Moss PH inks.

The gems are from the Clear & Pearl Gem collection.  I layered a sequin and a bead for this look.

This card uses all TAC stamps: the large cane is from Christmas Fun, the cane background is from Ornament Backgrounds and the text on the ribbon is from Love Lines.

I colored the large cane with Copic markers (B29, YG06, & YG09) and added gems from the Clear & Pearl Gem collection. I colored the white satin ribbon with Copic marker B29.  And I used my Corner Chomper to round the upper corners.

I still have 3 more cards to make!  Shouldn't take long... I already have some ideas!  Are you going to have all yours done in time??   If you do a few each month you'll get them!

Also, come back this evening for a "First Day of Autumn" blog hop!  I know... I've posted a few already but I made another for this hop!  I love fall colors. I miss the changing of the leaves in the Rocky Mountains in northwest Wyoming.  The aspens are glorious in their yellows!

You are so special!

I've been looking at different posts as I cleaned out some OLD emails and got a bit inspired!!  These cards are rather fast and easy but I do like the looks of them...

I used a yellow card base and stamped the dots from the TAC set Background Soup with Cognac PH ink.  The label and text are from another TAC set called Label Lingo and I cut it out by hand.  The flower started out as white but I swiped the Cognac ink on it and a bit of white scrappers floss that's threaded through the brown button.  Pop the label and flower with foam mounting tape and voila!!

What do you think of this cool dog!!  It and the text are from a TAC set called Brandy & Emma.  I got this set from a friend after TAC closed.  Our daughter had a wonderful dog that kinda looked like Brandy but it was a yellow Lab.  The white card base is mounted on a 1/4 sheet of black cardstock. The dots were made with my Journaling pen and a centering ruler!

I colored Brandy with my PrismaColor pencils.  You can see some pencil lines as I couldn't find my OMS (odorless mineral spirits).  I have a bottle somewhere...  Inside the card I stamped 5 pawprints along the left edge.  There are still a few TAC stamps I'd like to get my hands on, oh well.

Looking for Fall....

I got all 3 samples for a "Fall into Autumn" class at the LSS in Green Valley, AZ. done in time for our store meeting.  Amazing!   Usually I'm working up to the last minute as I get such brain burps at times... This class is scheduled for Oct. 19 and hopefully it will be a go...  (Gets real slow when the "snowbirds" are gone.)

I used Spellbinders Assorted Leaves Shapeabilites dies for all 3 cards.  This card also uses a die from Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles Nestabilities.  How do you like the paper? The patterns are from a double-sided Bo Bunny sheet called Forever Fall Impressions.  I love the colors!  And the text is by The Angel Co.  My Wizard got a bit of a work-out for these!

The striped paper is by American Crafts. It, too, is double sided and you will see the other side in the next card.

I swiped Burnt Umber ink on the leaf after embossing.  And the text is from the Tag Tidbits set by The Angel Company.  Did you notice the other common factor in these cards???  I used tan raffia. I like how it seems to "finish" the cards, at least to me.

We've been getting some great cooler mornings lately, in the low 60's.  Love opening the back door and letting it in!  Feels wonderful and the AC doesn't kick in until noon or so now.

Have you checked out the 3 stamp companies in the sidebar?  I'm waiting on orders!!  I just had to purchase a Christmas moose and appropriate text!  And I found a great "empty tomb" stamp for Easter!  Wahoo!

Live For Today

Since The Angel Company closed I've been looking at other companies' stamps.  I haven't done this in YEARS!!  Have only purchased stamps from the LSS where I teach and usually only those the owned wanted me to work with.  So,  I went to PaperTrey Ink and found a few sets and some really cool paper!

This layout was on a blog and I've been searching for it but, no luck. Darn! I saved it in my emails but it's buried somewhere.  Anyway...  These stamps are from a set called Through the Trees and the paper is Autumn Abundance.  I love the fall colors!!

Here's a close up of the little acorn.

It is still quite hot here but we have been getting some rains (and horrific lightening storms) and the mornings are now below 70.  I miss the fall colors in the Rocky Mountains near Yellowstone Park.  We lived 70 miles east in the Cody/Powell area for years. This year we are kinda planning on going to Sedona, AZ to celebrate our anniversary.  Last year we were there and hit the peak color change! Oh my gosh, it was BEAUTIFUL! And the smell of the pine trees...  Ok, now I'm homesick!   What do you like about fall?  Do you make cards or scrapbook pages to celebrate the season?

Biblical Impressions Stamps

Years ago, before I joined The Angel Company in 2002, I purchased my stamps from various companies.  Just recently I "rediscovered" Biblical Impressions and became an affiliate!

Just look for this picture in the sidebar and click to see what they have and shop!  I know I'm heading there!  You do need to know that these are red rubber stamps but there is NO cushion/cling included.  Some people don't use cushion and some do.  If you need cushion Sunday International carries it.  Also I am now affiliated with Eureka Rubber Stamps and QKR Stampede.  I'm finding some really fun moose images at Eureka!

And if you are so inclined to pray... Please pray for my mom.  She had emergency surgery Tuesday night and had 4" of her aorta replaced as it had ruptured.  Almost a life & death situation.  The surgery went very good and her vitals are also good but she's having a bit of a problem coming fully alert.  Thanks!

Layout Virtual Swap...

My friend Christine is having a "virtual" card swap...  Not sure if I said that right.  Anyway, she provided a layout design and some of us took up the challenge using TAC stamps.  I tried to download the layout but it just would NOT download.  But my card did!

I used the set called Every Leaf.  I worked hard to get enough in orders to get this set free as a Rewards level set. (I can see my adhesive didn't stick real good at the bottom so did add a glue dot to fix.)

I used 3 different ink pads to color the stamps: Burnt Umber, Raw Sienna, and Bordeaux.  I thought these colors best fit autumn leaves.  The card stocks were chosen to celebrate autumn and the little leaves are glue dotted to raffia.  I think I should have used a small text on a punched circle instead of the little leaves.  What do you think?  At the time this post went live she did not have the layout on her blog. Hopefully soon!

Second set of Halloween Cards for my class....

A couple weeks ago I showed 2 of the 4 cards that I'll be teaching at the LSS in Green Valley, AZ. I finally got the time to show you the other 2 cards!

I used the same stamps but different paper.

How do you like these hanging spiders?

I added Stardust Clear Gel pen to the eyes and black/white twine from The Twinery to hang them.

Now how about a bunch of spiders!  And look at that little rascal on the web!

Again I used the Stardust Clear Gel pen but on the web also!  The designer paper is both sides of a card stock by Bo Bunny called Whoo-Ligans Grrrrr.    It's just too cute!

I hope my class will be on Oct. 5 if you're in the area and interested.

We MUST remember

I cannot come up with the words to convey my sadness over the events of Sept. 11, 2001.  America was under attack from Islamists (and we still are at war with Al Qaeda and other Islamists who want to destroy America,  Christians, and Israel).

Only through the grace of God that more were not killed. My prayer is that we Christians will stand firm for God and pray for this nation for repentance and salvation. Sadly the attackers now have more rights than Christians.

In honor of this day in history I want to thank those firefighters, policemen, and others who worked so hard trying to save people in the Twin Towers and afterwards looking for survivors then bodies.  Many died in that attempt, many are sick from the dust and chemicals of the fallen buildings, and many are still alive who probably relive that day and weeks afterwards to this day.  And for the families of those killed by the terrorists, my prayers are with you all.

The great image of Miss Liberty is a very old TAC stamp called Liberty.  The text is from the Bless Your Heart set.  Did you notice my blue & white striped floss?  It is regular white scrappers floss that I colored with Copic marker B37.

How cool is that!!  I colored it to match the dark blue layers. I did it by using my metal ruler wrapped in masking/painters tape.  I wrapped the floss around it then marked it with the Copic.  Voila!

I pray for this nation daily and am saddened to see how much "we" have turned away from our great heritage in the name of "political correctness" and sin. This nation was founded by those wanting to worship God without interference of government and more.  Now people don't want God in their lives. We are in the last days according to the Bible and Jesus is coming soon to take His people out before He begins His great judgement.  Come, Lord Jesus, come quickly. Amen.

OWH Birthday Bash Celebration

My friend, KellyRae, was the featured cardmaker yesterday at Operation Write Home! She used to be an angel with TAC and she is just SO talented!!  She is great fun to "stamp" with and has wonderful ideas!

The challenge was to "case" one of her beautiful creations. So, without further ado...

I just purchased this really cool set called Down By The Sea by Inkadinkado.  The polka dot paper is by DCWV and I double layered the vellum so the background wouldn't overpower the stamps.

I adhered the vellum to the paper with mini black brads and used Noir Palette Hybrid ink for the stamping.
I was trying to think of something to add to the right of the grass but decided that less was more. What do you think??

Teddy Bear Blog Hop

I'm still playing with TAC stamps (I'll never quit!) and decided to join a Teddy Bear Blog Hop sponsored by Debra Miller.  And, yes, I know my card doesn't have a "teddy bear" (I don't have any teddy stamps) but it is a bear!  This "hugable" looking creature is from the Forest Friends set.

I colored this cutie with Copic markers.  The distressed background was made with my Wizard and the Tim Holtz Woodgrain embossing folder.  I used DCWV white core card stock for the background and got a great distressed look as the paper tore a bit when embossed plus I did a bit of sanding also. I also used 2 Nesties, Labels 5 and 9.  A slot punch was used to make the holes for the ribbon.

He does not have mange but I did used the Copic blender refill on a piece of terry cloth towel to "speckle" him.  Almost looks like fur...  And I used Crystal Lacquer on the eyes and nose.

All but the Blender refill is shown here of the Copics I used.  (Opps, I missed T5 for the claws.)

Please visit these other "angels" blogs for their bear projects. Oh, and Happy Teddy Bear Day!
