Happy Bear Day!

My friend Suzanne's hubby turned 65 last week. She had a surprise party for him and I just had to make a card!  You know me, any excuse to make a card!!! This card uses the Retiform technique again but you can really see it this time.  Oh, did you check out Mischelle's blog for the video tutorial?  If not, just check out my post on the 12th.  Anyway....   I started with the Forest Friends set and stamped the bear in Momento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers E01, E55, E74, T2, T5, N4,YG03, YG06, and the Blender.

I used Burnt Umber and Raw Sienna PH inks for the background technique. For the phrases in the technique I used sets Keep Blessing Me (Hostess level A set),  Older Than Dirt (Purchase with Purchase set),  Sophisticated Sentiments (also Hostess level A set), and Tag Tidbits on the sign.  All this was stamped on White Caboodle card stock with a brown base.

Here's a closeup of the bear.  I need to find something better than paper towels to texture my animals.  But then, I did want him to look old and ratty for Ron.  Did I accomplish that a bit??

Nice job with this technique! I found that I got more texture using an old wash cloth I cut up. I Hope that makes sense!
