I'm home!

We just got home from Wyoming and are exhausted! I still have some posts scheduled to post tomorrow so I will have a little break to get caught up on laundry and house work. Thanks for sticking with me while I was gone and I'm looking forward to creating later this week!

Also, I just go notice that I will be featured on Savvy Projects June 3rd!! I'm excited to see what Mischelle says!! You betcha I'll be watching for it!!

Are you sure it isn't getting close to Christmas??

Here's the other Christmas card I made using the paper from Daisy Bucket Designs. The stamped piece I just switched to this card from the other to show the versatility of this great stamp set. Normally I would use TAC's free download designs for my black & white patterns.

Stamps: Christmas Circles, Mini Occasions
Ink: Noir & Jardin Moss PH
Paper: Black & white cardstocks, Black Cardstock strips
Acces: Gold stickles
, Pop Dots

The posts this past week have been pre-scheduled since I'm in Wyoming visiting 2 of our children and friends. I will be home later today and will be scrapping my photos and creating more projects.

Elegant black & white

Isn't this elegant paper? The local scrapbook store here in Green Valley, AZ gave me a sheet of this double-sided paper to play with. It's by Daisy Bucket Designs and this pattern is called Out On the Town. It's 12" x 12" with one side the white with black swirls and the other has 4 different patterns. I decided to make a Christmas card with it.

Stamps: Christmas Circles, Mini Occasions
Ink: Noir & Jardin Moss PH
Paper: scraps of white & black cardstocks
Acces: Gold Stickles
, Pop Dots

My next post will show the other Christmas card I made using this paper so stay tuned!

The yellow bird

I've photoed this card twice and it's still a bit out of focus but the wall is nice and clear. Anyway, I've again been playing with TAC's free download patterns and this time I swiped the design I chose with my Sunflower PH ink to change it. I rather like how this came out!

Stamps: Friends
Paper: yellow and white cardstocks, downloaded pattern
Inks: Sunflower & Noir PH
Access: Black stampers floss, Impress Brights markers

Masterpiece or not??

I'm not sure what I think of this card. It is an easy and fast card and even masculine! Let me know what you think or how you would change it, whatever!! I'm still playing with our free download patterns and did change this argyle print in my Photoshop program to brown & pink. Anyway, I know this card needs help but I just can't think of what!

Stamps: Hieroglyph Horses, Life Thoughts
Ink: Burnt Umber PH
Paper: brown (from my stash), white premium, downloaded pattern

We are now in southeast Wyoming visiting our kids and helping a friend get his farm equipment ready for hay harvest. I'm trying to check my emails when I get to a computer so if you have left comments please be patient as comments are moderated before they show up on the posts. I hope to have lots of pics to play with upon our return!

Where's the gecko?

This little gecko really blends in with the gravel in our yard just outside our back door! We have lots of geckos all around our house. We also have scorpions (I killed one next to our front steps last week) but I'm not hoping to photo any of them! Anyway, I layered a piece of vellum over the photo and punched out the circle to "showcase" that little rascal! Can you see him? To punch the vellum I layered it with a piece of copy/printer paper so the vellum would punch cleanly.

Stamps: Just For You Hostess A set
Paper: Vellum, Black Cardstock Strips, grey cardstock (been in my stock for a long time!)
Ink: Noir PH
Embellishmets: blue brads, Super Jumbo Circle Punch

Pink, Brown, and White

I played with a color combo challenge on Paper Wings the other day and here's my creation.
I also just received my Scor-Bug and wanted to play with it. I love how it looks on white core paper when you sand the top! I forgot to sand this before I took the picture but now the "dots" show up white! Very cool. Also, the pattern paper is one of TAC's free downloads and I changed the color in my Photoshop program. Love the pink & brown tones of it!

Stamps: Sprigs
Paper: DCWV Cardstock Stack, white cardstock, free download
Inks: Noir & Burnt Umber PH
Misc: Extra Jumbo Flower punch, Super Jumbo Flower punch, white scrappers floss, button, Prismacolor H2O pencils, Niji water brush, Icicle Stickles, Scor-Pal, Scor-Bug

It seemed like such a great idea....

Our son goes through 4-wheel drive vehicles like a duck takes to water. He seems to love creating unique vehicles as much as I like to stamp! This is his latest. He sold his Chevy Blazer body and put this Chevy Sonoma body on the Blazer chassis. It's must be a boy thing. I hope to get more pages made as he sends photos. I just seen a photo yesterday and he's already got the pickup primed grey and ready to paint. This photo I've had for a couple weeks.

Paper: Kaleidoscope Boyz WIC, scrap of white cardstock
Stamp: This Boy
Ink: Prussian Blue PH
Embellishments: paper photo turns, brads

Blue Christmas.... in this heat??

I had to do my dozen Christmas cards for the month before we leave next week for Wyoming so here it is:

Stamps: Aged Ornaments, Trendy Greetings
Paper: Bazzill Blues pack
Ink: Prussian Blue PH
Misc: Crystal Lacquer, 1/4" hole punch

Now, don't forget to leave a comment on my Blog Candy post on May 15th to win those 4 cards! Read the post directions before you comment (it'll save both of us some time later if you win).

I also hope to get some creations made up to post while I'm gone. I'm gonna be busy this week! But I really want to get something for you to read so you won't miss me too much! So, stay tuned!!

Birthday Celebrations!

Here I was playing around making a birthday card. What do you think??

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the projects I need to get done so I opted for some paper piecing! I used Little Cupcakes stamp set and Pop Rockz SWIC. Aren't those candles colorful!!
I used Noir PH ink and a few buttons and white scrappers floss for embellishments. I colored the tops of the candles with Souffle Gelly Pens. To mail this card you would either need to turn it inside out or slip a piece of cardstock the same size as the card into the envelope to cover the cover. This card may cost a bit extra for postage, too.

Did you post a comment to win my blog candy on last Friday's (May 15th) post?? Don't forget! You must click on the word "comments" under the "You might like these stories: ...." below the post to get your comment in the right place. I know this is confusing to some but it's just how Blogger works.

Bless your pea pickin' heart!

Well, this is my last card of the series. How'd you like these samples? Are you ready to order this cute set?? It's only available this month!! I will be gone May 23 - 31 so if you want it you really need to order it through me, not my online catalog and shopping cart since it's a special, before I go.

So, this is another fast card. I did do some piercing on the bluish-gray piece and rounded the corners. And I did use scraps again. The little turkey was colored with Prismacolor pencils. This is another sketch idea from Heather. She does have great sketches to play with!
So, is there a stamp set you'd like to see samples from? Just contact me and if I have it I'll make some cards or scrapbook pages for your enjoyment!

Do you want to follow me in Reader?

I just added the option today to follow my blog in Google Reader. This gives you the option to receive emails when I post or to wait and read my blog through Google. You must have a Google account for this option but it is FREE!! So now you can have the choice how you want to read my blog! Aren't options great!!

Hello Chickie!!

Here is the third in my series. Again I used scraps and I doubt I'll ever make a dent in that pile!
I stamped the chick in Chartreuse PH ink all over the card along with "hello chickie" in Veridian Green PH ink.

I cut a piece of dark green and trimmed one edge with a decorative scissor. I colored with my Prismacolor pencils and edged the 2 stamped pieces with Chartreuse ink. The images are stamped with Noir PH ink. And, yes, this is another fast and easy card. You don't have to have lots of layers, piercings, ribbon, florals, whatever to have a cute card! And, one more card to go!

You are so tweet!!!

Here's #2 in my series of Pea Pickin' cards. I did add some Crystal Stickles on the red band after I took the photo.

I used a piece of TAC's free download pattern and again, some scraps. I used markers to color the stamp before stamping and punching with the 2" Super Jumbo Circle punch. Unfortunately my Brilliance Moonlight White ink is not working so well (I've had it for a very long time!) but with it and white e.p. I did the "you are so tweet" in the lower right corner. I used L'Amore PH ink around the edge of the circle for more visual effect. Again this was an easy and fast card to create. Yet I like the color combo a lot! Stay tuned for cards 3 & 4!!

Happy Mother's Day!

To all of you who are mothers I hope God blesses you greatly today! And where would we be without our mothers? We are taking mine to Red Lobster in Tucson, AZ after church services. She loves to go there and I do, too. So, this is the only post today. No cards or anything. I will be giving my mom her little cookbook and the Diamond Fold card I posted for our Scor-Pal blog hop. God bless you all!

Waddle I Do???

I just got in an order I love this new Pea Pickin' set! It's available this month only for $10.50 if you have a $30 order! I also used a layout by Heather.

I was using up a mess of scraps from my HUGE basket and some red gingham ribbon. I could have added a tie to the ribbon but I figure I had enough on it already. The cute little rooster is colored with Prismacolor pencils and I did a bunch of paper piercing on the edge of pink and in each corner of the red corners. I think it turned out rather cute! This is the first of 4 cards I made using this set so stay tuned!!

The scallops have it!

I have a Wizard die cut machine by Spellbinders and a bunch of dies and texture plates. Here I wanted to create a card using my square scallop Nestabilities set.

I folded my cardstock and layered it in such a way that the top row of scallops wasn't totally cut out so that I could save the fold. I cut a 2nd piece out of Sands Of Time SWIC using a smaller scallop square die. I stamped my Hiero Horse in Burnt Umber PH on some white cs then used my Mega Circle punch to prepare it. I also swiped the scalloped card and circle with the ink for more emphasis. I layered the smaller scallop square on some brown DCWV cardstock and added the Antique Copper Hardware eyelets. I really like how this turned out!

Mother's Day Cook Book

My mom wanted some of my casserole recipes and that gave me an idea for her Mother's Day gift!!

Here is the cover. I used Cha Cha SWIC to cover 2 pieces of chipboard from a baking mix box. I created the title on my computer. The ribbons are from the Cha Cha Ribbon assortment and I also used red, black, and white scrappers floss. I didn't do a lot of embellishments for kitchen safety and cleanliness.

Here is the inside cover. I wrote in a little note for my mom. The sun is from a retired set called Kokopelli (which I love!!). Each page is stamped with either Salsa Flowers (retiring) or Kokopelli. I hope to finish coloring the images this week using my Prismacolor Pencils. Oh, I outlined the large sun with my journaling pen. And all this is bound together with the Bind It All and 3/4" black wires. I'm not making it real fancy inside, either, as my mom doesn't do fancy.

Newsprint Reveal Technique

This is a technique from the Technique Junkies newsletter. It's pretty cool and easy to do. And the best part, you probably have most of the supplies on hand! No special purchases! I highly recommend subscribing to this great resource! Just click on my link in the menu bar. And, if you do subscribe, please mention my name. And now for the instructions....

I cut out a piece of newspaper, trying to get as much print as I could. I chose my image (here I used a tree from Good Timber), inked it with Versamark ink, covered with clear embossing powder and heated with my heat tool. Then I brayered my chosen ink to cover the remaining newsprint as best I could. I even swiped the ink pad over it to get more coverage but I did have to use a tissue to clean off the clear embossing. At that point I started creating my card. I used Amelia SWIC, cardstock, and ribbon and a bit of stamping and voila! It's done! Pretty elegant, if I say so myself!

Owl about you??

Kind of a corny title but I was blurfing the other day and seen a layout like this and I thought, hmmm.... Cool! So, I gave it a try!

Stamps: Artsy Owls
Paper: white premium, DCWV Cardstock Stack Brights
Misc: Buttons, Coluzzle Nested Circles & tools (retiring), Prismacolor Pencils, pop dots
Ink: Noir PH

This would make a good "guy" card, maybe even Father's Day! But I really should be working on my Mother's Day cards! And I have a special project I'm working on for my mom. I will post it when I get it done!

Scor-Pal Project

Are you ready?? There's a project I made using our Scor-Pal:

This is the cover to my Diamond Fold card. Actually this is it when closed. I got the template from the Scor-Pal website. Just click HERE for the link.

I used our great new Beautiful Day set from Serendipity magalogue and Reece SWIC and cardstock along with some scraps of white cardstock. I used my Prismacolor H2O pencils and Niji Water Brush to color the images. I also used Noir, Bordeaux, and Paris Lights PH inks for stamping the images.
