Hidden Drawer Card Tutorial

Since I just had my Nugget Box Class I really don't want to post that tutorial for a while as some of my class attendees check my blog and they had to pay for the class. So, here is the Hidden Drawer Card tutorial.

I cut a piece of cardstock (Cha Cha cardstock) to 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" and scored at 1" on all 4 sides using your Scor-Pal.

Cut a piece of cardstock 3" x 12" and score at 3", 4", 7", 8", and 11".

Fold this longer piece on the scores to the shape of a "b" as shown. You may need to play with the top of the "b" and the 1" inside flap to get a good crisp fold. When you feel you have it where the cover or top of the "b" lays down nicely then adhere the 1" inside flap.

Cut 2 tabs on opposite ends to create the box. Adhere the tabs.

Now decorate! I used Cha Cha SWIC, Tag Tidbits stamp set, paper posies, Noir ink, black/white ribbon, and black cardstock. Fill your drawer with goodies and slide it into the box and there's a cool card for your honey, child, friend, or anyone you want to give something special! If you have any questions about the making of this please contact me.

Nugget Box tutorial coming soon & Coluzzle Info

I've had some requests to do a tutorial on the Nugget Boxes. I'm am currently working on it and hope to have it online soon.

Also, I've heard through the grapevine that ProvoCraft is discontinuing the Coluzzle. We carry some of their products so, if you are so inclined to use these great products (and I have a bunch of the templates!), please get your order in! This is a sad day but with the Cricut, Spellbinder dies & Wizard, Big Shot, etc., I'm not surprised. I have a high heel box template, coffee cup box template, and many nested templates. They are much fun and easy (especially if you remember to use the Coluzzle cutting mat!).

Hieroglyph Horse Card

I'm involved in a swap on Paper Wings with other angel demonstrators and this is one of my swap cards. The swap was to use a TAC™ image with non-TAC™ paper. The pattern paper here is from Club Scrap (purchased about 4 years ago) and the horse is from our Hieroglyph Horses set. The plain cardstocks are from my stash and I have no idea where I got them. The ink used is Agean Blue VersaMagic and I thought the stamping technique (crumpled paper) worked well with the pattern paper.

The dots on the corner piece are pieces punched using a 1/4" hole punch, adhered, then covered with Crystal Lacquer for some pop. The word Celebrate is from our Laugh Hostess Set A. I think the card is pretty cool!

Nugget Box Class Photos

If you didn't take my Nugget Box class in Green Valley, AZ today you missed out on a lot of fun! Three of the four ladies signed up came and we learned a lot about a certain paper trimmer/scorer and punches. This picture is of the 3 boxes that we made. Top row boxes were made by Joyce and Donna and the bottom by Linda. Images & stickers by unknown. They got a bunch of one on one instruction and we were done a bit early. I think Joyce signed up for the rest of my classes right after we finished! These boxes look a lot like match boxes, don't you think?

Do I have your attention yet?? I have 10 Magalogues left! So, at this time I'm sitting where I can see our front gate willing the big brown UPS truck to come in and deliver my Magalogues!

Hidden Drawer Valentine

As I was blurfing (you know, blog surfing!) I ran across Ruth Norton's blog and found the coolest Valentine goody box! Look at the open view to see the slide in/out box! Isn't this just fun!!

I used my Cha Cha SWIC, cardstock, and ribbon. The cut-out heart is cut from an old Sizzix die and then run through a Cuttlebug folder on my Wizard then I rubbed my L'Amore PH ink over it to pop the dots. The word is from Love Doodles and there's a bit of scrapper's floss tied on the ribbon. The inside text is from a retired set called Valentine Trio.

I think I'll give this Valentine to my hubby instead of the fancier one posted earlier. I think he'll like this one way better!

You only have a couple more days to leave a comment on my Jan. 15 Blog-iversary post for a chance to win my drawing!

Will you be my Valentine?

I seen a beautiful card done by Amy Sheffer (can't find her blog now) and she had a gorgeous card posted that so inspired me. Her card was a lot fancier but I really like how this one turned out. I used Love Doodles, Nested Labels 1 & my Wizard by Spellbinders, a Cuttlebug folder, Brilliance Moonlight White ink, Noir P.H. ink, and red sheer ribbon. I plan on giving this to my hubby so this is one card he won't be seeing for a while. What do you think?

One World One Heart

I have come across some great blogs celebrating this event created to bring together bloggers from all over the world. Many are having give-aways to celebrate this event and I found a few for you to check out.
Corey is a great artist and she has 2 beautiful necklaces to give away. Click here and here.
This lady has great fabric art, this one does a variety of different mediums, and this lady has a beautiful piece of art and some tags.
I decided that since I already have a drawing going on that I will not do another at this time. To check out mine go to my Jan. 15th post and leave a comment. Remember that my comments are moderated and need approval before they show up in the comments column.

With Sympathy

An old friend (actually boyfriend) from high school has been paying me to send Christmas cards to his family. Today he called and needed a sympathy card mailed. I decided to play with Heather's Sketch of the Week and this is what I came up with.

I used our Winchester SWIC, cardstock, and ribbon and the With Sympathy stamp set. The ink is Eggplant Versamagic. Rather elegant, don't you think?

Did you leave a comment on my Jan. 15th post for the drawing?? You can't win if you don't leave a comment!

More Password Books

I got the individual pages cut right and completed 6 more Password books! The inside pages have 2 website entries per page (different format than the first book) and there are 10 pages.

I again used the Brights Chipboard Stack but I also used Decorative Corners, Cars, Fore!, along with the 2 retired sets for the text. And I used Super Jumbo Scallop Oval punch, Mega Scallop Oval punch, Super Jumbo Circle punch, the Tonic corner rounder, Giga Scallop Square punch, Ladybug & Cupcake paper posies, Prismacolor Pencils, Ava Embellishment Jar, white scrapper's floss, a sanding block, various brads and green gingham ribbon. My inks were chosen to coordinate with my chipboard covers. I used my Bind-It-All and 5/8" black wires to assemble the books. I hope to sell these for $4 or $5 each. What do you think??

Have you signed up for my Blog-iversary drawing? See yesterday's post!!

Blog-iversary Drawing!!

January 16 marks my 1 year anniversary of blogging! Therefore, I'm giving away some blog candy! This is my first attempt at making a Website Password book. As you can see in the 2nd picture I had a bit of trouble getting my pages cut so the binding is a bit close to the first line. Anyway, you get the idea!

I used our Chipboard Stacks, Artsy Owls, and a stamp from a retired set. Also used my Bind-It-All and 5/8" wires to assemble this little goodie! I got the idea from 4 very talented angels, Barb, Vicki, Rita, and Chris! I hope to make more to sell at craft fairs in my area.

So, to enter my drawing, please leave a comment! I will chose a winner on January 23. Please remember that comments are moderated for approval so don't worry if your comment doesn't show up right away!! Only one comment per person will be counted! And please leave your email address in your post so that if you're the winner, I can contact you for your address and get this little book out to you! So now I will go have a little goodie and celebrate my blog-iversary! Happy Birthday to me! LOL!

Inside the Flap Fold Card

I thought I'd give you an inside look at the Flap Fold Card. There is still another flap to open but you probably get the idea.

Still an elegant look and I hope my class will enjoy making this unique card when the class takes place.

Remember, the 1/2 price stamp sale of Tcoded stamps ends the 26th.

Flap Fold Card

This is a design I will soon be teaching at Green Valley, AZ soon. I used the G is for Gratitude set, Amelia SWIC collection, cardstock, and hardware, and Burnt Umber PH ink. The ribbon is from by stash. I love the elegant look which is kinda outside my box but I think it turned out pretty good. I got the directions as a member of the Technique Junkies which I highly recommend getting the newsletter.

A serene and peaceful card

This card was designed for Paper Wings last June.

I used Blessed With and Fancy Curls sets along with orange, black, white, and yellow cardstocks. I also used Sunflower ink, a slot punch tool, and orange ribbon. The photo is one that my brother took of a Hawaiian sunrise many years ago.

I have a blogiversary coming up soon and will have a prize drawing on that day so stay tuned!

Squash Book sample

This is one of my samples for my Squash Book class coming up soon. I want to thank my good friend, Kelly Rae Cooper, for sending me some pictures that greatly inspired me. The cover color is actually burgundy/wine, not pink. I used the Chris Cross hostess set, All Season Swirls hostess set, Life Thoughts, and Trendy Greetings stamp sets. The only ink used was Bordeaux PH. I used 4" coasters for the 2 covers, Wine Red 2 cardstock, and a single square piece of white cardstock for the inside. The "tassel" was made from 1/4" burgundy and white ribbons and I used my Big Bite Crop-a-Dile II and an Antique Copper eyelet for the tassel hole. Now, what deserving graduate can you think of to send something like this?

Pulled Pastel Technique

Here's another technique I'll be teaching soon. It's called Pulled Pastel.

I used 3 stamp sets: Rose Garden, Just Because, and Decorative Corners.
Inks were: L'Amore, Claret, Jardin Moss, Chartreuse, Sunflower, and VersaMark.
Cardstocks were: black, white, plum, and yellow.
I also used Basic Brights Chalk Kit.
I will explain this technique after my class in March.

Now, don't forget our great 1/2 price sale starts tomorrow!

More information on 1/2 price stamp sale

I called TAC™ this morning and verified that our Fall Supplement IS included in the sale!! So check out the left side menu under Fall Supplement for the Tcoded stamps you want!

Hopefully I'll be getting some creating done soon. I've spent 3 days down with a head cold. Today I'm up and moving but still very weak and congested but I'm feeling almost human. Hope you are staying healthy!

Stained Vellum Card

This is another technique I'll be teaching this year in Green Valley, AZ. Isn't it pretty! I used the Take Pride set, a scrap piece of white cardstock, brown cardstock, vellum paper, Burnt Umber & Noir inks, and small dark brads (from my stock). It'd make a great graduation or masculine card. After my class I will post the technique here for you to try but I'd really like to see your projects! I'd love to showcase your work! You must use TAC™ stamps, though.

And don't forget that, as of Tuesday the 6th through the 26th, all T-coded stamps (T in the item number under the stamp name) in our catalogue are on sale at half price!! I'm already getting orders coming in! And, if your order goes over $30 net, you need to not use my online shopping cart and contact me so that you can get your free stamp! And, if your order goes over $100 net, you will qualify for hostess sets and 1/2 price items so again you need to contact me to get these great benefits!
