Tin-Tastic Memories

This cute little tin memory box was one of our projects at Seminar.

We used the Scor-Pal to score 2 2x12" pieces of Reece Cardstock (light aqua) at 2" intervals. We overlapped 1 square of each panel and glued so that we could have a longer strip. We then folded on the score lines to create an accordian. We then stamped 2 circle images, 3 square images, and 2 starburst images from the Sweet Goodies set onto scraps of Willoughby Cardstock (light yellow-green) with Noir Palette Hybrid ink and punched out using the Mega Square Punch and the Extra Jumbo Flower Punch. One of the "flowers" we used a small hole punch and punched in the center of the starburst then added a piece of Reece Ribbon (light aqua). I actually put a knot in the center of the ribbon and threaded the 2 ends through the hole. We attached the punched items as shown. The cover flower we used a Pop Dot for a raised effect. Then we wrapped a piece of Amberley Grace Ribbon around the tin.

I have yet to add photos but this would make a great gift!

Fearless Scrapbooking Class

We had a "break-out session" at Seminar last week and this class was called "Fearless Scrapbooking". It was very good and made these pages relatively easy. We didn't even look at the 12x12 page until we had our "elements" assembled. We were told that to have the big, blank page in front of you can be overwhelming, and I agree! I had to use pics of our 2 youngest granddaughters, Rylie and Rowan, on these pages. Aren't they just the cutest!!! The little girl on the left in the middle tag is a friend of our granddaughters.

For these 2 pages we used the Cha-Cha SWIC, matching cardstock, ribbon and hardware. The black scallops is a new product called Cardstock Strips. They are so cool and come in pink, red, ivory, brown, white, and black and are 12" long. Great way to add to a page, card, whatever papercraft you are making. The tag uses a phrase from This Girl stamped in Noir Palette Hybrid ink. The little "buckles" on top of each tag are from the Essential Elements chipboard set which also includes little frames, flowers, corners, and all kinds of cool things. They can be inked, glittered, whatever you heart desires (almost)!

I used my Tonic Corner Rounder to work the picture frame. Rylie's name is stamped using the Swirly-Bet set and Noir Palette Hybrid ink. I used my stapler a lot and the Crop-a-Dile to set all eyelets. There are phrases from the This Girl set on the 7 tags in the pocket below Rylie's picture. Now, if you think you can't do a 12x12 page, if I can do it, YOU can do it!!

More Seminar projects coming at a later date!

Cards that didn't make it into the Inspiration Book

These 2 cards were submitted for our design call but didn't get accepted. I like these better than
the one that was accepted!
The Heiroglyph Horse was done using the crinkled paper stamping technique. I crumpled up a piece of scrap cardstock and then flattened it out some. I inked the stamp, stamped it on the crumpled paper, then stamped it on my designated piece of cardstock. I love the 2-toned look! The verse is from the Be Still set. I used Hemingway SWIC and matching cardstock and ribbon and Cognac Palette Hybrid ink. The slots were made with our "retired" slot punch set.

This card uses the Amelia SWIC paper and matching cardstock and the Ornamental Snowflakes set. I also used my Coluzzle Nested Circle template and Icicle Stickles for embellishing. I stamped the snowflakes with Burnt Umber Palette Hybrid ink and sponged the ink on the edges of the large stamped piece. The small snowflake is layered on the same color paper as the circle and raised up with Pop Dots. As you can see I dotted the circle with the Stickles and highlighted points in the snowflakes. I love how this just jumps out at you in real life.

Well, I got my catalogs in and my Brilliant Beginnings Bundle so need to organize. I have all my new stamp sets indexed and mounted, in their CD cases and put away (trying to be organized!). Now I can start creating! My air conditioner kicked in at 7 this morning and it's already hot and cloudy. We are in the "monsoon" season and the humidity is coming up a bit. Good day to play!
Happy stamping!

I'm published!

I have a card in our new Inspiration & Catalogue!! It's on page 45 with the Be Still stamp set. I submitted 3 cards and this was my least liked. I don't think I can post the other 2 cards since they are TAC's property at this time. I will write and ask later when things settle down. I did receive a $50 gift certificate from TAC™ and have a few stamp sets I want. I have posted a picture of the new book in the left side menu and info on getting one. I have 6 already reserved. My 2 cases should be arriving today by UPS.

Here's some facts and figures concerning our new catalog:
*Our Hostess & GWP plans remain the same.
*Hostess sets A & B were retired from our previous catalog and will be from this catalog when the Spring/Summer catalog is revealed in February 2009.
*We have 4 new Soar With It Collections and they are great! They're called Penelope, Angelee, Reece, and Willoughby.
*There are 35 new stamp sets shown.
*We still have coordinating inks, cardstocks, hardware, and ribbons listed with most paper collections.
*We do have more punches available, 3 new Embellishment jars of flowers, the carrying case for the Scor-Pal, and Cardstock Strips (textured 12" long strips of scallops and such of varying colors).
*Woodrowe, Natalee, and Sydney Album Kits are double-sided.
*All items are still listed in the index in the back of the catalog.
*We now list coordinating punches and still list the correct sizes of acrylic blocks with each stamp set.
*We have many "helps" at the front of the catalog as to where to find the album kits, projects, inspiring ideas, etc.
*We show 5 creative layouts on page 3 to help simplify the creative process for you. Many samples use these layouts and have the coordinating sketch number with it.

I will be posting some of our projects here and in my .com gallery when I get them uploaded.

My trip was quite eventful. The flight from Tucson to Denver was a bit late and I literally had to run from gate A26 to gate A60 at DIA (which is probably about a 1/2 mile). I made my flight as they were announcing my name and about 8 others, 2 of which were angels from Las Vegas! About 20 minutes into the flight from Denver to Wichita we hit turbulence! We were in a small 2 prop plane and WOW! What a ride! The flight attendant just started serving our beverages. I was in the second row and was lifting my soda to take a drink when my hand and drink flew into the air, almost hitting the overhead baggage holders! I only spilt a drop or two but people in the 3rd row really spilt. The attendant was on the floor. She crawled back to her seat and buckled in. The turbulance lasted about 10 minutes or so. I was feeling quite ill by now. Anyway, we flew out of the storm and she finished serving drinks and lots of paper towels. Now, on the way home was more excitement! We barely got on the small plane in Wichita and a gentleman 1 row back and across the isle was feeling real poorly. He was sweating terribly! Anyway, the EMTs were called and we sat there for 15 minutes. He got to feeling better and wanted to continue on so we finally got airborne. We did make up some time but still was a bit late landing in Denver. A few passengers missed their connecting flights, I made mine with about 5 - 10 minutes to spare and it wasn't clear across the terminal, it was only about 6 gates away. Did have a minute to make the Ladies Room. Got to Tucson about 9:30 and went shopping! Found a couple items I've been looking for at Joanns downtown then went to a birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza for a child of one of Dean's co-workers. Got home about 5 pm, unloaded the car and found my chair. I was gone in 60 seconds! Well, more like 60 minutes. Dean woke me at 10 and we went to bed. I was up at 5:30 this morning to make his lunch, clean my washer (he washed his work uniform - YUCK!), and get online. So, now I need to take a shower, wash some clothes, and get unpacked and stuff. Catch you all later!

A couple more cards done.

I decided to make a non-golfing card for my hubby since he doesn't knock that little white ball around a green field so this is what I came up with. The Old Truck stamp is retired but I stamped it with Burnt Umber P.H. ink on a piece of white cardstock, cut it into 4 pieces, sponged the edges then reassembled on the brown cardstock. The large letters are alphabet stickers from the Sands of Time collection as is the patterned paper then I stamped the rest of the text using my Kinder-Bet set, cut, sponged and reassembled. Turned out rather cool, I think!

And I'm still working on my Christmas cards! This card was from a challenge on Paper Wings using the colors green, brown, orange, and white. Text was allowed to be done in black. So, I started with a piece of orange cardstock folded to make the base of the card. I found a scrap piece of brown cardstock and cut it in half on the diagonal and adhered. I also had a piece of green cardstock and cut to layer as shown. The white is stamped using the Snowflakes set and Orangerie, Jardin Moss, Burnt Umber, and Starry Night P.H. inks (I stamped off once before stamping on the white for a more subtle look). The Merry Christmas is stamped in Noir P.H. ink from the Whimsical Greetings set. I added some Stickles glitter in blue, green, and crystal to some centers of the snowflakes for some extra bling. Definitely not traditional!

I'm starting to get my clothes and stuff packed to leave Wednesday morning. I'm getting so excited to see my friends and have fun with TAC™'s new stamps, etc. So, if you email me don't expect a reply until I get home on the 22nd and get rested! I have ordered 20 catalogs and have 5 already reserved! Let me know if you want one held for you! They are $4.95 plus $4.80 shipping (priority) with the $4.95 refunded if you place a $100 or more net order! I don't know if I will post again until I get back. I will upload pics of our projects to my .com site in the gallery so you can see what we did. Look for the Projects album on the 2nd page. Happy stamping!

Father's Day Cards

Do you have your Father's Day cards done? I do finally have mine and they will go in the mail tomorrow to my Dad, Son, and Stepson. My son used to golf as a kid and is really into 4 wheel drive pickups, etc. but he will get one of these cards. All 3 use the FORE! set.

This first one is a shadow box card. You cut 2 pieces of cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and score both at 1/2" and 1" on both ends on both pieces. I used my Coluzzle Small Nested Circle, Swivel Knife, and Mat. I found the center of my top piece and lined up the tabs from the circles and chose which size circle I wanted then cut. Remember to place your cardstock on top of the mat or you can damage your knife and not get a good cut. I lined the inside of the back piece with a piece of white cardstock and stamped the scene and colored with my Prismacolor Pencils. I stamped the golfer and golf cart on scrap pieces of white cardstock, colored, and cut. You can see I placed the golf cart on the inside of the top to add more dimension, and you might use a pop dot to adhere it for even more dimention! Pretty cool card!

This 2nd idea was kinda stamplifted as I seen it on Paper Wings and liked it very much. The original had a beautiful brown ribbon and different text. I used shades of green, beige, and white cardstocks and the card is 5 1/2" x 7". I stamped the bottom white layer with the golf ball and FORE! with coordinating Versamagic Inks. The text is from Trendy Greetings but you can use any saying appropriate to the occasion of giving!

This last card is also 5 1/2" x 7". I used white and scrap blue cardstocks. I stamped the ball on white with a coordinating blue ink and punched out using my 1" circle punch. I used Pop Dots to raise the off the side and covered with Crystal Lacquer. Love the effect. I stamped the scene and text in the same blue. I really should have cut my blue layer a bit bigger for the text. I used my corner rounder on all four layers. Again, you can use any text appropriate for the occasion.

Well, I need to start getting some house cleaning done. Happy stamping!

Scrapbook Pages

Well, time is getting close for our annual TAC™ Seminar. Less than 2 weeks!! I've been busy making my "trades" and here are 3 of my 6"x6" scrapbook pages I've made. They are quick and easy yet I think they have some impact. The first 2 shown use the Punctuation set. All have a white base since I have so much white cardstock. I tried to coordinate papers and ink so the effect would be better. I used either Palette Hybrid or VersaMagic inks.

This first one I also used 4 different floral paper punches to make the embellishment. The pattern paper if from a retired Designer Collection but use a floral pattern paper of your choice.

This 2nd page uses Running Stitches and Simple-Bet.

This last page I used the Mountain Scenery small tree to stamp the background and a 2" circle punch. The tree buttons I found in my stash and I used white scrapper's floss as a tie. I think this one is my favorite.
I will probably start packing some things next week. We are asked to bring a supply kit and I hope my paper trimmer will survive being in my check-in luggage. I will not be able to do any updates while there as I won't have computer access but will be online sometime on the 22nd after I get a long nap. I fly back into Tucson about 9:30 (have to be at Wichita airport at 5 am!!). I even have a "team" meeting at 10:15 pm on Thursday night! And our first meeting is Friday morning at 9 but with 4 of us in a room I bet we don't sleep in!

So, I hope you are enjoying my projects and remember my large gallery at stampingcarol! There is much to see there!

Spring Card

Well, besides this card to show you I have some news!! I am on the design team for Paper Wings! This is a site for TAC™ samples made by "angels" but for anyone's viewing. The samples are listed according the the stamp sets so if you have a set and you don't know what to do with it you can look it up! Unfortunately, my designs are for "angels only". After 3 months I will be allowed to publish those designs here. Being asked to become a "winger" is a great honor but also a great challenge!

Now, on to the card. My patten paper is from Mulbery Meadows which is being retired. I'm using up my scraps but you can use just about any of our great pattern papers and just coordinate your cardstocks! I used Spring Dreams for the flower and my Prismacolor pencils to pull in all the colors. I like the little ribbon even though my punch holes for it are a bit large. The image is stamped with Palette Hybrid Noir ink. The bottom of the dark green is stamped using my Fancy Curls set and P.H. Jardin Moss ink. I also layered the white stamped flower on coordinating cardstock from the Brights Cardstock Stack. I like the simple elegance of this card.
Be great for just about any occasion.

Another new set!

This set is already on my wish list when the new Fall/Winter Inspiration Book comes out later this month. It's called Build A Flower, set of 13, for $15.95. To see a cute card using this set just click here.

I'm not sure if the punch used on this card will be available. I have a RollaBind binder and it will work great for this cool punched edge.
