A Relatively Tidy Desk and a Snowman

It's that time of the week again.  It's your time to see my desk!  Well, yes but it's been kinda tidied as I finish one project and prepare to start on another.  And this desk view is brought to you by Julia at the Stamping Ground in Wiltshire, England!    She has been sponsoring this weekly blog tour for 253 weeks.  That's almost 5 years!!  Be sure to click through to her blog when you've finished reading mine.

So.... my desk.  It's ready and waiting for me to make my 4 card samples for my May class.  I have the paper ready and waiting on the left.  It's the Sports collection by Graphic 45. Under the paper is a DVD case of stamps that I had out to use on the card on my mat.  There is also some glue dots in the upper left, and, working left to right, my bone folder, black ink pad, acrylic foam blocks, foam mounting tape, scissors, and ATG tape gun.  My poor Ott light base is absolutely loaded with stuff and I do need to clean it out but it holds glitter pens, journaling pens, scissors, rhinestones, and oh so much!  Would you like to see the completed card??

This card is in response to a sketch challenge on 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.  I am doing these off and on to be sure I have enough Christmas cards in November.  I have a good start!  The stamped text is from a set called Trendy Greetings by Red Rubber Designs. This set does get a lot of use and I've had it for a LONG time. But I focused on the paper itself for most of my design.

I tried to get a good pic of this little guy.  I used my Clear Wink of Stella brush on his body (all the snow anyway).  I also used the brush on the star, holly leaf, and snow beanie around the text.  Maybe by clicking on the picture and enlarging it you can see it. I used a couple hexagon punches to make the focal point but I cut down the larger one so that the layering would be more comparable.  If you would like to see more cards using this particular sketch just click on 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.

So, I've given you few places to check out. Be sure and have your favorite beverage as you view so many desks with great projects to inspire you as you will be hopping all over the world!  Click on the Stamping Ground and head to England.

Carol, your link on Julia's blog didn't work right--but it does at least come to your blog!

Aren't those Winks great? I love the clear, so sparkly! It's hard to photograph, isn't it?

mmmmm....not great with Christmas at any time of the year...perhaps I should do a few a month and then it won't seem so bad. #39

Well I was just about to click and enlarge when you showed me anyway - neat desk and fab Christmas Card. In April. just so we're clear, I read your reason for it, I just can't quite absorb it! Love the hexagon punch - makes a super change from circles.

This might sound strange but I was surprised to see an ATG gun in a colour other than yellow! [I know ... sounds like I've lived a sheltered life doesn't it?!] ;-)

All my crafty friends have one an, on a recent crafting break away together there was a small army of identical yellow guns all lied up across the workspace! So your red one leapt out at me amongst all the creative things on your desk!

Love the card! Do you have to have made a card to be 'behind' on the project? I intend to start mine in Jan. Maybe more of a summer project when I need to hide in the cooler basement studio. I'm off to check out 52 for inspiration. Creative Blessings Kelly #82
