Christmas in July Blog Hop

I so enjoy taking part of Blog Hops and this is our monthly Paper Wings hop!  We're preparing for Christmas and hope we can inspire you to get a head start on your projects.  We have a LOT of angels taking part so grab your coffee, water, tea, or whatever, sit back, and ENJOY!

My first card I was using a very NON Christmas set called  Circles of Love.  This is a Rewards Level A set found on page 6 of our Inspiration Book.  I should have made it brighter in color but it's not bad....

I used Bordeaux PH ink to stamp all but the tree trunk.  It's stamped with Burnt Umber PH ink.

My second card uses another Reward set but level C called Love This Day.  You can see it on page 10.

I made my own background with Copic markers and an ink pen.  I haven't done this in years so it's a flash from the past for me!

I also used White Liquid Applique, the Stardust Clear Gel pen, and Crystal Stickles to embellish Santa.

Celebrating the wedding

A couple months ago a young couple in our church got married and Sunday night the church is having a little reception for them.  I've made a couple (I like that word right now apparently) cards for us and my folks to give them.

This card used the word from the Sophisticated Sentiments set along with the FREE downloadable paper patterns that TAC as provided. To find the paper just click the Free Downloads button in the sidebar.  I also used Tattered Flowers die then ran the flowers through a Cuttlebug folder.

I spritzed the flowers before stacking with the Silver Shimmer from the Gold & Silver Shimmer Spritz pack. There is beautiful sheen even though you can't really see it.  I divided the 2 patterns with a 1/4" black ribbon and added the black gem from the Black Gem Collection.  I used some foam mounting tape to adhere the flower to the card then curled the petals for more dimension.  Very dramatic in my opinion.  There is a 4th flower to the set but I couldn't find it on my work table.  (Guess I need to clean my table!)

This card is a bit more subdued but still eye-catching in my opinion.  I used some dark brown and ocean green white-core cardstocks along with white cardstock.  I ran the green through the same Cuttlebug folder as the flowers from the previous card but then I sanded it to bring out the design. I used the Super Jumbo and Mega Scalloped Oval punches and the phrase is from the Contemporary Greetings set and  Oasis Green VersaMagic ink.

All the little copper metallic gems I purchased to use with my I*Rock tool by Imaginisce. This is a great tool and I've used the daylights out of it!

I now need to go online and find appropriate sayings for the insides of the cards and get them printed and adhered.

Just a quick question for those who are not "teachers" with TAC™.  Do you use the links I provide to view the stamps and products I use?

Cactus cards

A while back I showed 4 cactus images I stamped by Animal Spirit stamps.  I finally finished 2 cards for our Arizona Stampers group as I join an Above/Below swap frequently and this month the theme was southwest.  These cactus images were perfect!!

According to the swap I send a card to the gal above and the gal below me in the sign-up data base.  I also used the set Wonderful Words (a GREAT set of 6 stamps @ $18.95) with the cover text and a great inside stamp.

The image above has some Stardust Clear Gel pen glitter on it (bet you thought I'd forgotten this fun bling pen) on different aspects of the image.  The other card's cactus was stamped on glossy so I figured that was enough bling for now.  I also used some twine from The Twinery (I have a sample pack that I purchased a few months ago).  I think the gals will like these cards, what do you think?

What a DUH moment....

As I was blog hopping the other day trying to find my mojo I seen this layout I really liked. So, you know me, I got to work.  I used Dotted Peony and These Are The Days sets along with Prussian Blue PH ink,  2 coordinating blue cardstocks, and blue sheer ribbon.  What did I do...

This is my first card... Ok, not bad but just not quite right.

This is what just didn't float my boat...
Then, you know how it goes!  I hit my forehead with the palm of my hand and said, "DUH!"

I needed to carry the full flower image into the center panel but I stamped it off once before stamping on the white and adding the text!

Doesn't this look better???  Definitely to me!!  I think my mojo came home! Yahoo!

Great card by Mischelle Smith!

Since my mojo is still on vacation and I've been cutting out 13 sets of stamps (light blisters on right hand pinky) I decided to show you a card I received from TAC's CEO Mischelle Smith.  We played with this set at Seminar in June and I have this set but this card is just gorgeous!

This stamp is a Rewards Level A set called Lovely Butterfly (see page 7 in the catty).  She black embossed the ornament from Victorian Elements (pg. 96 - a set of 5 cool images for $21.95) on the black cardstock.  I believe she colored the image with Copic markers then clear embossed the whole image!  And isn't the black bow just the perfect embellishment!

Hopefully my mojo will be home when I get back from church today and I'll be creative.  I'm taking part in a Christmas Blog Hop next Sunday and already got an idea.  Better get on it before it fades!

(And hopefully this will post properly.  Blogger changed their format and pre-scheduling a post is a bugger!)

Happy Anniversary

July 5th was my folk's 55th anniversary.  I know "silver" is not the theme but I was having fun playing with silver glossy cardstock and after seeing a card made by Laurie U. on TAC's Paper Crafting Community I was inspired!

You can really see the glossy!  I scored a couple lines at the bottom of the card before adding some white scrapper's floss (disc. by manufacturer but I have a few...).  The white cardstock was run through a Cuttlebug embossing folder then I used a Nestie Labels 2 (wished we carried this one).  I used 2 sizes of the Nestie to have the center to emboss the Mini Damask which was a GWP in the last catalog.

I think the silver embossing really set off the image. Don't you?

I found these little square silver brads in my stash.  We used to carry these.  They're by Creative Impressions. I searched the internet for some anniversary poems to finish the inside.  They enjoyed the card.

We made it home Tuesday evening.  Had some heavy rain in southwest WY and lots of road construction down I15 in Utah and in Las Vegas. Wednesday evening we had over an inch of rain with floods and no power for 14 hours.  The land smells fresh and the floods are gone so we can now get in and out of our subdivision. Now to just get ready for a class today and get some swaps done....   Mojo, vacation is over!

Konnichiwa

I still have 2 more Seminar projects to finish but this is the last "card" project.  This Asian-themed card was designed by Angel Angela Kelley.  I met her in person for the first time at Seminar this year and she is truly sweet.  The stamp set is called Konnichiwa.  Normally I'm not into Asian but this set is a keeper!  This set was being designed a year ago and not in tribute of the Japanese earthquake/tsunami event.

We started with Maggie SWIC and matching cardstock for the card.  The original card used a circular tag and a hello stamp for the phrase but I needed a birthday card.  This text is from Tag Tidbits, a golden oldie set that is still current!  The little girl is stamped on white cardstock that was cut with Nesties Label 18.  There is no link yet but you can see it in the online catty on page 129. Her dress is pieced from the purple designed paper from the SWIC package.  I  believe the ribbon is from the Maggie ribbon collection but am not for sure.

I practiced a bit before coloring her with my Copic markers.  I love how her hair turned out!  The umbrella should have been blended a bit more.

This post was prescheduled to give me time to rest up and get to making cards again. Friday I have a class to teach at the Green Valley, AZ scrapbook store. Busy busy!!

Eyes To See

Finally, a masculine card!  This stamp set, Eyes To See, is just TOO cool!! I love it! The project was designed by Angel Holly Mays but I didn't exactly follow directions but it's close.

We used jute for the cord-like embellishment and a photo turn.  The base card is kraft cardstock with a black cardstock layer.

After I finished the card I spritzed it with Copper Shimmer Spritz.  In real life this card is wonderful!  My hubby loves this card and he's not the hunter type. (He prefers beef.)

We should be home tomorrow night.  I'll post some pics on my Livin Hot blog of our family reunion, family, and friends along with some scenery after I get my camera downloaded to my computer. As this post goes live we'll be leaving Powell, WY heading for somewhere in Utah to stay the night. We are exhausted but had SO much fun visiting with family and showing our son the "sights".

Live Simply

Here's a cool card we made using the Live Simply Rewards Level A set and chalks!  We stamped the image with Momento Black ink and swiped the Momento Desert Sand ink on the edges.

I believe we used the burgundy chalk in the Earth Tones kit.  And how do you like that bow??  I have the Bow-Easy tool and it does a fabulous job making great bows.

I don't know why I did a close-up. My chalking wasn't exactly even...   LOL!

Beautiful Banner

Heather Scott designed this project using the Pemberly Bay™ Matchbook kit and the new stamp set called Beautiful Lace designed by Nina Brackett and shown on page 33. I'm not into vintage but this set is COOL!

Originally we were to stamp the doily in white ink but mine didn't show so I got dramatic and stamped it in Noir PH ink.  It is stamped on Amberley Grace matching cardstock.

As you can see the doily is very detailed! And how about the dress form!

We also used Amberley Grace ribbon & hardware and pearls from the Clear/Pearl Gem collection.  This project can be used to make a bigger banner by using more panels or pages and stringing them on ribbon.

We are currently in WY with our son and his girlfriend and having a great time! So wonderful to see him after 3 years since the last time. Tomorrow we'll be heading to eastern MT for the family reunion. Hope to get lots of pics and may post a few on my Livin' Hot blog after we get home.

Correction

Chair-ished Friend T3476  - page 45

We have had lots of questions about this stamp set and we wanted to show you how this image looks when stamped.  Please note that the detail shown in the Inspiration Book does NOT show up when stamped.  Please refer to the images below to see what the chair will look like when stamped.  Because we use vulcanized rubber only it is very common that fine details do not show up in stamp form ~ we DO NOT consider this a defect.

Some projects were created, prior to the release of this set, with images in their digital format ~ thus showing all of the detail.

Also, please note that the stamp New Creation on page 45 of the Inspiration Book is mis-priced.  Correct price is $8.95.

Wonderful Trees, part 2

Here's the other 2 cards from the Wonderful Trees project.  Again, same papers, inks, etc.

I didn't add a bow to this card.  I was getting tired of making them.  I may just tie a piece of ribbon the the one on the card but then, I like it like it is.  The text is from the Say Hello Rewards set A on page 7 in the Inspiration Book.

This card is kinda different.  The bottom green print paper was fringed with scissors to look like grass.

And the grommet is from the Lilly Anna hardware set and applied using the Crop-a-Dile.  Not sure what it's supposed to be, maybe an egg??  I found a scrap piece of brown for the tree trunk and a scrap of blue for the bird.  Rather colorful, don't you think?

Wonderful Trees, part 1

Angel Marisa Alvarez developed 4 cool cards using Wonderful Trees, a fun set designed by Nina Brackett and found on page 28 in the Inspiration Book.  For the most part I followed the cards exactly but I needed some birthday cards so the text on a couple were changed.  We used Lilly Anna SWIC and matching cardstock and assorted ribbon on all cards.

I used Burnt Umber, Chartreuse, and Prussian Blue PH inks on both cards.

This 2nd card I used a birthday greeting from the Joyful Notes set.

This is a very versatile set with birds, leaves, 2 tree trunks, and more.  I wasn't too sure if I liked it when I received it but it is growing on me (pun intended).

Cards for Kids project

I've been working like crazy on the Seminar projects and am almost done! Today I'm on the road to Cheyenne, WY.  Looking forward to seeing the daughter and cooler temps. So, this post has been prescheduled as the next few.  This project was created by Paula-Kay Bourland.  She is truly talented.

She developed a diorama card of 3 layers using the Sunshine & Joy set designed by Soft Pencil Studios on page 13 of the Inspiration Book.  I have this set and it will be part of some blog candy for an upcoming drawing.  It's cute but just not my style.  The opening was made with Nestie Label 5.  And I added rays to the sun with my Stardust Clear Gel pen (were you wondering if I'd forgotten it?).

Here you can see the 3 layers.  We used Miss Moxie SWIC and cardstock (yellow) and as I'm putting this post together I realized I forgot to add the Miss Moxie pieces to each side.  Easily rectifiable.

I used Copic markers to color the images before adhering to the layers (prior to assembling the layers into the card). This card will lay flat but requires a larger envelop as it's 6 1/2" x 4" when folded.  I used a white gel pen on the flowers and leaves in the foreground.  I think that added a lot of pop to them. We now carry the Signo white gel pen along with gold and silver, see page 138 in the Inspiration Book.  Angels who have these pens just LOVE them so I guess I'll have to add the white to my order.

There is always a reason to send someone a card and let them know that you are thinking of them!
Be a blessing and drop someone a card today ~ just because!
